Tasting - Roscato Rosso Dolce

Name: Frontera Merlot

Variety: Merlot 85%/Carmenere 15%
Region: Central Valley, Chile
Country: Chile
Year: 2014
Price: $11.79

Winery Review: A luscious treat to enjoy while cooking. Pairs perfectly with a secret lick of the spoon. Frontera Merlot shines at room temp, or slightly cooler. It has smoothly melded fruits and aroma of cherries and pepper. It is a perfect match for pasta, cheese, red meat and grill chicken.

My review:  The color of the wind blood red.The smell is strong. Had a couple sips because it has a sour taste to it. I had it on top of a rib-eye and potato. I can taste the cacao. It is not sweet but very complimentary on top of the cheesecake that was sweet. It balanced the sweetness of my dinner.
